Agfa has announced the appointment of Mrs. Rucha Shevde as Country Head India H2 Membranes at its Green Hydrogen Solutions business unit, a global provider of high-performance ZIRFON membranes for alkaline water electrolyzers.
In the role, Rucha will lead Agfa’s strategic expansion in India’s fast-moving hydrogen ecosystem. Her appointment reinforces the company’s commitment to accelerating hydrogen deployment in one of the world’s most promising clean energy markets.
Rucha brings more than 14 years’ experience in the energy transition sector, holding senior roles in both industry and government liaison.
“India has enormous potential to lead the global market in green hydrogen adoption, and ZIRFON is uniquely positioned to support that ambition,” said Rucha. “I’m delighted to join the Green Hydrogen Solutions team as part of the Agfa group; our membranes help electrolyzer manufacturers and project developers to improve energy efficiency, reduce costs and scale production. The work we do contributes to India’s energy transformation, and that’s such an exciting role to be part of.”
ZIRFON membranes have a proven track record with more than 15 years of operation, enabling the highest energy yield for alkaline electrolysis. The membranes allow for safety and performance under direct coupling with renewable energy sources, with an excellent gas purity under dynamic load curves and with power inputs as low as 10%.
Jorge Tomas, VP Green Hydrogen Solutions at Agfa, added: “Rucha’s appointment comes at a critical growth period in India. Her deep technical knowledge, strategic mindset and proven track record in building cross-border energy partnerships make her an ideal fit for our ambitious team. We look forward to seeing how Rucha makes her mark, helping our team to build a fossil-free energy future in an accessible and scalable way.”
Agfa will continue to build regional presence in India by partnering with electrolyzer manufacturers, EPCs, and policy stakeholders, helping unlock the country’s vast potential for renewable hydrogen production.
